Yes. Invest in the bartering skill and you'll be drowning in dukes. Quests are also great for xp. I think for quests, it's the daring adventurer perk that gives you more dukes and more options for the reward. For reference I am on day 80 and this was a trader I only just started getting jobs from recently and they were tier 1 even though I unlocked tier 5 on several other traders. I finished several tier 1s and then there weren't anymore jobs to do. Check to make sure you don't have any idle quests, I know I had a few that didn't have markers.
