After I reinstalled on bike, turned fuel on, went inside to wash my ha...When that is confirmed drain the old gas from your tank and put fresh gas in. On the side of your float bowl there is a screw you can open to drain your float bowl. Put the petcock on prime and turn this screw counter clockwise. You can attach a piece of hose there to route the gas into a container or something. 2.You only need to remove 6 bolts. 2 seat , 2 tank and the 2 shrouds bolts going into the radiators. Pull the tank with the shrouds attached. Now that I think about it, I guess technically there are 8 and a set screw. Once the tank is off you remove the 2 socket head screws for the top of the carb.Mine is a oem 2000 DRZ 400 K (kick start only) and has the Keihin Slant FCR 39mm carb. I suggest if you do a complete cleaning/rebuild/rejet, that you do it properly, and remove the MID-BODY and change out the very likely original mid body gaskets that are now over 20 years old.

Posted October 5, 2009. Well, after all morning cleaning the carb, the problem is still there. I pulled the carb and cleaned each of the jets and fuel screw and sprayed carb cleaner in their respective holes. I also used one of those compressed air cans to try to blow out any gunk.
